Operating Instructions

The Functions and Technical Parameters of Intelligent Micro-computer Programming Controller of Solar Street Lights

1. Indicator 1 is the indicator light of operation,the battery capacity and adjustment of battery overdischarge.(It is on if there is  power inside the battery and it will be off without power inside.)

2. The indicator 2 is the indicator light of solar energy,the access of solar panel and light-control point adjustment. (It is on in the daytime and off when the solar street lights are working.)

3. The indicator 3 is the indicator light of the load starting(It is on/off together with the Solar Street Light.)

4. The indicator 4 is the indicator light for overcharge protection of the battery.

5. The adjustment of the battery’s overdischarge (rotating to the anti-clockwise direction is to turn up.) is for adjusting the voltage of overdischarge of battery, namely the control of adjusting the circuit examination so as to judge battery capacity to be exhausted or not (The normal depletion voltage of battery capacity is10.5V without load).

6. Light Control Adjuster:The adjustment of light control (screw to the anti-clockwise direction for turning up) is for the adjustment of light control sensitivity. It can be adjusted according to the illuminance of environment. Notes: when the lights are turned on in the evening, the illuminance of the environment is too high. (Namely you don’t feel the light is bright enough, No anomalies, the indicator 2 is working by now) The adjustment can be carried out. Just adjust the indicator 2 till it goes out. Then the loads(lights) will be started (on)in 58.26 seconds.

II. Reset & Test Bottons: Botton 1 is the test botton: generally the electric circuits need to be tested after the connection and adjustment of the cables. (When you test it, only need to pull the botton 1 to“ON” position and then（to “OFF”）reset it again. After the test, just pull the botton 1 back to “OFF” position. The botton 2 is called reset botton: Generally after the connection and adjustment of the cables, the botton 2 should be pull to "ON" position.)The electric circuits needed to be reset. (That is, pull botton 2 to "0FF" then pulling back to "ON” again.)

Notes: The test belongs to trial run! The method of timeset should be changed from 1 button for 1hour into 1 button for 1 second

III. Timeset Bottons: It can set the starting time of load 1 and load 2 respectively (1 hr to 12 hrs from the left to the right as the diagram shown, pull anyone of the bottons up to “ON” stands for 1 hour. Just pull all the bottons of No.1-9 up to “ON” position if you hope the load (light) to work for 9 hours. If the fourth numbers of bottons: 1 to 9 are pulled to “OFF” position means the load (light) will be paused for an hour and starts control again after it starts for 3 hours)

Notes: The bottons NO.9-12 are the last 4 buttons lined up in order; 1 botton stands for 1 second when you test.

ATTENTIONS: 1) The solar panel should be the last while you connect the wires.

2) The Reset Botton should be set to “ON” position while it works normally and theTest Botton should be set to “OFF” position. The indicator light 1 should work. The indicator light 2 will be on or off. (Namely it will be on in daytime and off at night.)

            3）When you cover it, please set Reset Botton(No.2)to”Off”position first and then to “ON”position) then seal off it.

Remarks:

1. Light Control means the start of the loads(lights) are controled by light (brightness of the enviroment)automatically.The lights will be on when it is at dark and off when it at dawn automatically.(That is,when you adjust the Light Control Adjuster till the indicator 2 is gone out in the condition of darkness and the solar street lights will on at the same dark condition every day automatically.)

2.“Light Control”and “Overdischarge” of RTH controllors have been adjusted and set well before leaving the factory. Don’t adjust it again barring special circumstances.

All the reset operations in the instruction is:To pull botton 2 to “OFF”then back to “ON”position again.

Please mail the controller with faults back to our company if there is anything trouble with it! Please do not dismantle and repair it arbitrarily if you are not a professional of our company, or else it will be at your own risk.

IV.You can check the conditions according to the following if the light source doesn’t work in use.

1.Open the cover of the controller to check the lines of the circuits to find out wether they are felt off or water inflow.

2、Check the reset botton to see if it is reset and the DIP Switch is set in place.

3、See the second step of term（I）to check whether the solar panels it is being charged.

4、Test the light source in accordance with the set of test state

For example:

The whole light source of one fixture is on for 6 hours before midnight and half of the light source of the fixture is on for 3 hours after midnight.

The connection way :is to fix the two-way output built in the fixture to load 1 and load 2, respectively, and pull the timeset of load1 and load 2 from 1 to 6 and 9 seperately.

The test method goes as follows

Set the Reset and Test Botton to “ON”position then reset it again and do not touch other componets, the fixture should be on all for 6 seconds then the other half will be on for 3 seconds.If the test is successful,show that the controller and circuits are intact.

5、Test the electric quantity of the battery. Let the fixture be on and test the voltage of the battery with a multimeter to watch the swing condition of voltage hands,if the voltage hand moves very fast show that the float voltage is high.When the voltage of the loaded battery is less than 10V,show that the battery’s power is run out and it need to be charged right now.

6、In the normal condition, if the fixture still isn’t on at night.You should observe the ambient illumination to make the solar indicator be in the condition of “ON”,and adjust it according to the sixth step of term“I”
